We the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega pride ourselves on being Real Strong Women. Because of this, we take pride in supporting our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness (DVA), in all aspects of our lives. Our philanthropy touches each and everyone of us in a special way, and we love to share our events with our campus and local communities.

 

Every October, Alpha Chi Omega hosts our biggest philanthropy event of the year - Week of Hope! A week filled with events to spread awareness and provide support for those affected by domestic violence. Some of our events include our Mr. AXO man pageant, a candle light vigil, and much more! In addition to Week of Hope, each spring Alpha Chi Omega participates in the nationwide event Healthy Relationships Week. This week is an opportunity for us to showcase to our campus community what a healthy relationship should entail, while also spreading positive love to our peers. We also have the amazing opportunity to share our philanthropy with our own families through our annual Bean Bag Tournament in the spring. In this past years tournament we raised over $800.00 to donate to our local domestic violence shelter - Women & Children's Horizons of Kenosha.

 

As you can see, our philanthropy is something that us women all hold very close to our hearts. Because of our sisterhood we have all gained the confidence and support to stop the silence and end the violence. Because here in Alpha Chi Omega, we believe that love should never hurt.
